A little more about this tool
BPM means beats per minute. The detector looks for repeating changes in audio energy, so a steady drum groove usually works better than a long ambient intro. A song can feel like 70 BPM or 140 BPM depending on which pulse you count. Use the click and your ears to choose the useful interpretation. Analysis runs locally on up to the first 90 seconds; trim to a rhythmic section if an introduction is misleading.
Can it listen to Spotify or YouTube?
It can listen through your microphone to music playing on speakers, or analyse an audio file you select. It does not import streaming links or capture audio playing only in headphones.
Is it really free?
Yes. Use this tool without an account, subscription or download. Audio files and microphone input stay on your device. Browser format support varies; MP3 and WAV are good starting points.
