How to use slow down & loop
- Choose a song, then enter the start and end of the phrase you want to practise.
- Set a slower speed and leave pitch at zero to preserve the original key.
- Enable repeat and optionally increase speed on every loop until you reach 100%.
A little more about this tool
Practising a short section slowly can make timing and note changes easier to hear. Start at a comfortable speed, repeat the phrase cleanly, then increase the pace. Start and end positions refer to seconds in the original recording. The player uses time-stretch processing to separate tempo from pitch, with a short transition between repeats. Extreme changes can sound grainy, so use moderate settings when tone quality matters.
Does slowing a song change its key?
Not in this tool: speed and pitch are independent. Keep pitch at zero to hear the original key, or use semitones to transpose deliberately.
Is it really free?
Yes. Use this tool without an account, subscription or download. Audio files and microphone input stay on your device. Browser format support varies; MP3 and WAV are good starting points.
