A little more about this tool

This generator uses musical scale degrees to build four-chord starting points. Mood labels choose different harmonic patterns; they are prompts, not promises about how a song must feel. You can enter one to eight chords, with each lasting one bar of 4/4. Add seventh chords, suspended chords or slash bass notes to explore a different colour. MIDI contains notes and timing, so your DAW instrument supplies the final sound.

Can I use the generated MIDI in my own music?

Yes. You can download and use these generated note patterns in your own tracks. Choose your own sounds and arrangement to make the idea yours.

Is it really free?

Yes. Use this tool without an account, subscription or download. Audio files and microphone input stay on your device. Browser format support varies; MP3 and WAV are good starting points.
