A little more about this tool
The drone combines a root, a scale-derived third, a fifth and an octave with gentle detuning and slow tonal movement. Soft and shimmer use smooth oscillators; warm adds more harmonics. It is useful for hearing how notes relate to a stable tonal centre and for finding melodies without a fixed rhythm. The scale setting chooses the harmonic colour rather than playing every note of that scale. Stop playback before switching audio outputs or leaving your instrument unattended.
Is this the full ARGISH instrument?
No. This is a simple free browser drone. ARGISH offers its own evolving musical engine; use the demo link below to hear the difference.
Is it really free?
Yes. Use this tool without an account, subscription or download. Audio files and microphone input stay on your device. Browser format support varies; MP3 and WAV are good starting points.
